Honouring the Memory of Kathy MacKenzieThe Esquimalt Curling Club is deeply saddened to share the passing of our friend, mentor, and valued member of the curling community, Kathy MacKenzie. Kathy passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, after a long battle with a lung infection. Kathy’s impact on curling in our region was profound. Many of us had the privilege of working alongside her at Zone, Regional, and Provincial Championships through CurlBC. Her dedication, guidance, and generous spirit helped shape not only our competitions, but also the people who were fortunate enough to know and learn from her. She will be deeply missed, and her influence will continue to be felt throughout the curling community for years to come. A celebration of life is being planned by the Victoria Curling Club. Please contact VCC for details. We invite all who knew Kathy to take a moment to reflect on the time spent with her and the lasting impact she made on our sport and our lives. Posted on: 2026-02-25 |
