2025-06-13:ECC to Host 2026 Provincial Curling ChampionshipsThe Esquimalt Curling Club (ECC) has once again been selected to host the Curl BC Men’s and Women’s Provincial Curling Championships, set to take place from December 30, 2025, to January 4, 2026. This marks a return of the prestigious event to Esquimalt after a successful co-hosting in 2024. "This is a great opportunity not just for our club, but for the entire community," said a spokesperson from ECC. "The Provincial Championships bring in top-level curling, but also attract fans, families, and media attention - it's a win for everyone involved." The Township of Esquimalt is enthusiastic about hosting more high-profile events at Archie Browning and views the 2026 championships as a key step in boosting community engagement and supporting local businesses. Club officials have indicated that profits from the event may go toward upgrading equipment - including a potential investment in new curling rocks, a significant and long-term asset for the club. Preparations are already underway, and ECC is working closely with Curl BC and local stakeholders to ensure another successful championship week. With some of the province’s best curlers set to compete, the 2026 Provincials promise to be a highlight on the B.C. curling calendar. Further information about the event and volunteer opportunities will be shared as we get closer to December. |
