This is the inaugural event for fundraising at Esquimalt Curling Club to support the advancement in research for the BC Cancer Foundation. Though many organizations and events are already helping to raise fund for cancer research, ECC is joining in the effort! Much work still has to be done to find a way to cure many suffering from this illness, so every effort is needed to raise as much money as possible to facilitate this goal. It is the hope that all curlers at ECC will see the need and do their part by registering for the event.
This event is open to all curlers from beginner to advanced. Each team can have more than four curlers if it chooses to to allow for many to participate. Registration fee for each team of four is $300. Beyond the four curlers, each add-on will be $25. The team decides it's own rotation of curlers for each game before the game begins. The rules for team make-up for this event is a little more relaxed though the rules of the game stay the same. The five-rock rule is to be observed in this event.
There will be a banquet on Saturday night. The cost of dinner is included in the fee for participants. Dinner guests will be charged $40 per ticket.
50/50 draws will be throughout the weekend with one draw per day on Friday, and one draw at the banquet on Saturday. To each team, please provide one basket of any theme you choose to be raffled off. The tickets will be sold throughout the day and the draw for each ticket will be done during the banquet.
We will be keeping the format simple this year with the goal being to raise money for cancer research.
