The Bonspiel has started and we hope you enjoy our bonspiel this year.

It is a pleasure to welcome you to our Annual White Ensign True Mixed Bonspiel. On behalf of all members of the Esquimalt White Ensign Curling League we wish you good curling and we hope that you have lots of fun at our spiel. If you need any assistance during the bonspiel, feel free to contact any of the committee members.

1. Curl BC General Rules of Play will apply.
2. Five rock free guard zone rule applies.
3. All games will be a maximum of 2 hours long with up to 8 ends, except as noted in Rule # 8. Last end not to commence beyond 1 hour and 50 minutes from the start of your draw time. An end is deemed to be complete and a new end started after the thirds have determined the score. A team being late will forfeit the hammer, one point, and the game will be shortened by one end for every 10 minutes late. The game will be forfeited after 30 minutes. In the event that both teams are forced to default, a winner will be determined by a coin toss conducted by bonspiel committee members.
4. All games will be 8 ends or less except as noted in Rule #7.
5. Each team must have two male and two female players, and males and females must play in alternating positions; NO exceptions. In the event that a team must play with 3 players due to unavoidable absence, the male/female alternating positions must be maintained.
6. Ties in games prior to the semi-final and final games will be settled by a draw to the button, using the following guidelines:
- any team member may throw the draw,
- sweeping is permitted by the throwing team only,
- rocks must be in the house to be counted.
7. Ties in semi-final and final games will be settled with an extra end.
8. No time limit shall be imposed on the semi-final and final games.
9. Spares are permitted but they may not be from any active or eliminated team in the bonspiel. A team may have no more than two spares for any game.
The Esquimalt White Ensign Mixed Bonspiel welcomes all curling participants and spectators.

Bar open from 5:00pm to 12:30am
First draw starts at 5:00pm
SATURDAY:
Tim Hortons coffee, Timbits and snacks are provided, at the top of the stairs to the lounge at 7:30am
Bar open from 11:00am to 5:00pm
West Coast College of Massage will have tables set up in the lounge from 11:00am to 4:00pm
First draw starts at 8:00am
SATURDAY EVENING BANQUET & DANCE:

Bar Hours: 6:00 pm - 12:30 am
Dinner: 7:00 pm
Dance: 8:00 pm
SUNDAY:
Tim Hortons coffee, Timbits and snacks are provided, at the top of the stairs to the lounge at 9:30am
Bar open from 11:00am to 4:00pm
First draw starts at 10:00am and the finals are at 1:00pm
IMPORTANT: Please ensure that you bring your dinner tickets with you to the banquet. The tickets will be required to enter the banquet and will also be used to draw for door prizes during the evening. All teams are entered into a Reverse Draw at a cost of $10.00 per team, which is included in your entry fee.
The last team drawn will win their entry fee back.
All teams are also entered into a Calcutta Draw at a cost of $10.00 per team, which is included in your entry fee. The cash payouts for each event are as follows:
A Event - $100, B Event - $100, C Event - $60, D Event - $60
Four games guaranteed with a cash payout to the four top teams.
EXTRA BANQUET TICKETS
There are a limited number of extra guest tickets available to the banquet on Saturday night for $50/person which can be purchased from the treasurer. Please contact Alison Bergbusch at alison.bergbusch@gmail.com or during the spiel at the rink for purchase.
